Histopathology

Histopathology department is involved with the macroscopic and microscopic examination of tissue samples known as biopsy material to diagnose and evaluate disease. It is done to examine the biological tissues to observe the appearance of diseased cells in microscopic detail. It is an important tool of anatomical pathology for accurate diagnosis of various cancers like breast cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer,etc.

Expertise of our facility:

  • The department is subdivided into functional units including: Surgical Histopathology, Histochemistry, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Research, Exfoliative cytology, FNABs, Multiplexing.
  • Our department includes: Automated tissue processor, Automated tissue Stainer, Tissue embedding station, Semi-automated microtome, Digital pathology, Tissue microarray,etc.
